Mary Shelley was born in London, England on Wednesday, August 30, 1797 (G.I. Generation generation). She is 226 years old and is a Virgo. Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley (née Godwin; 30 August 1797 – 1 February 1851) was an English novelist, short story writer, dramatist, essayist, biographer, and travel writer, best known for her Gothic novel Frankenstein: or, The Modern Prometheus (1818). She also edited and promoted the works of her husband, the Romantic poet and philosopher Percy Bysshe Shelley. Her father was the political philosopher William Godwin, and her mother was the philosopher and feminist Mary Wollstonecraft. Though she wrote several essays and novels throughout her lifetime, she was only known for Frankenstein until the 1970s, when there was a renewed interest in her other work.

She was tutored by a governess, and she also attended a boarding school for a time during her younger years.
